What are the Guidelines for Planning an Event in Dubai after COVID?

Amidst Covid-19, Dubai Government has issues a new set of guidelines for the event management companies to resume activities according to the standards. Live events, weddings, conferences in Dubai are needed to be set up according to the guidelines.

Dubai Government issued the measures through a circular stating the guidelines that all event management companies in Dubai must take in order to host events, meetings, exhibitions, weddings, concerts, product launch, award festivals, and conferences in Dubai. Not just the outdoor event management companies, but sports event management companies that conduct sports event indoor and also outdoor will also have to take into account these regulations. However, Nightclub events and city promotions have currently been excluded from the list.

Here are the major guidelines issues by the Dubai Government to be followed while conducting events:

·        On the spot registration was not permitted. Visitors needed to register themselves prior to visiting the event inclusive of all the relevant details for the purpose of contact tracking.

·        Guidelines ensured the safety of the visitors. Registration area must scam all the pre-registered visitors during entry and there must be a distance of minimum 2 metres with floor markers.

·        In case there are a multiple events, screening and registration should only be done at main entrances. Also, the seating capacity is one person per sq. and a minimum of 2 metre of social distancing.

·        Measurement to sanitize the venue should be taken care after every event that has taken place. It should be done within a minimum of 30 minutes with less than 25 people and 60 minutes for more than 25 people.

·        It is mandatory to undergo temperature checks and masks all the time.

·        Event management companies and organizers must ensure that all the performers, guests, hosts, event planners must be tested and all the necessary precautions must be taken care prior to the event.

·        In case there is a need to remove mask, the guests or the performers must maintain a distance of at least 4 metre of distance.

·        Provision of Isolation zone is compulsory for suspected cases. After that, Dubai Health Authority will take over for further tests wherever applicable.

·        UAE events make sure that there is enough social distancing. Though pre-packed foods and beverages are allowed but it is ensured that social distancing is maintained and there is no self-serve.
